December 6th Day of Remembrance

December 5, 2018 Local, News

Dear Members,

As you go throughout your day please join me in a moment of reflection to honour the memory of the women who tragically lost their lives December 6, 1989, at The École Polytechnique massacre, also known as the Montreal Massacre.

Violence is something that has reached into the lives of so many of us, often unspoken and hidden.  It doesn’t have to be this way, and through changes in behaviours we can create a safety net for ourselves, our families, friends and community members.

I’d also like to extend the invitation for Unifor members to think of and include your local shelters and transition houses this season for donations of clothing, personal hygiene products or grocery gift cards.  Please reach out to me if you need information for shelters in your area.

Sincerely

Mary-Lynn Chittick
